Melee's irrelevant to situations where radiant is the best choice and where it isn't, people are better off with any weapon that can induce CC effects. Galenic Charm is also pointless for this build (and pretty much all builds).

That said, that's not min:max so people are better off just learning how to handle heavy. Lowers your weight, your effective crit rate isn't really hit in practice when maintaining stacks, and the extended mag effect compensates. If someone doesn't like being heavy or doesn't want to adapt to using the duck/backstep to dodge instead of rolling, they're better off swapping one piece of gear out for a Bandit piece with this build. Leto's Amulet isn't close to BiS for anything. The buff-on-kill ends up being a "sometimes maybe" buff that requires specific play vs the fixed buff of HS+DL that's always there for you.

I already pretty much never see white numbers after 1-2s of sustained fire w/o Braided Thorns, so it's mostly a waste (especially considering that in order to proc and maintain it you're bouncing between trash targets and losing Radiant stacks instead of focusing the primary threat. Radiant pretty much has a 100% crit rate after a second or two, so Heartseeker (for the locked-in 15% crit dmg buff) and Devouring Loop are better all-rounders.

Doesn't really make a difference in the open world and the benefit falls off sharply in situations where it actually matters, like boss fights. Buff-on-kill stuff is very situational. Swarm is definitely great for rounding Radiant out for situations it doesn't thrive in but I think if someone's gonna go that route they're better off leaning into it specifically by doing a radiant mod-spam approach with Storm Amulet (not my thing for radiant but it should work w swarm helping to drive stacks). IMO people are better off going all in on stacking for max damage via team buffs and HS on the actual Radiant player. It synergizes by enjoying the higher crit rate but detracts from the gunplay that's generating the bulk of the damage. Swarm is fine but I think the min:max viability of it in this build is debatable. It also 100% maxes out the boost provided by Gunslinger's in that Typewriter + Sub is the fastest possible RPS in the game in a build where the whole point is hitting as fast as possible and crit'ing non-stop, so it's real strong. You want to get as much lead down range as possible with your buff stacks maxed out, with as few reloads as possible, and with a higher fire rate to maintain crit stacks at 10 and roll more DL procs.

Running Radiant w/o Gunslingers Charm is like a crime against humanity Typewriter is generally more optimal in a pure radiant build, especially in the situations where it shines (eg. It's a fine build but strongest in nightmare is entirely relative to the situation and in most situations at that difficulty, Radiant underperforms compared to alternatives. The trick is to always have Hunter's Mark up as much as possible, as summons (Swarm, Breath of the Desert) benefit from Crits as well! Meaning that they can also proc Devouring Loop! The more hits, the better! This build gives a max of 85% Critical Hit Chance (90% with Ruin) and 140% Critical Hit Damage Ring 1: Devouring Loop (Best In Slot), Jewel of the Black Sun (Viable) Secondary: SMG (Required) running Swarm, and for Final Boss, switch to Breath of the DesertĪmulet: Leto's Amulet (Best In Slot), Galenic Charm (Viable) Primary: Assault Rifle (Best in Slot), Chicago Typewriter (Viable), Ruin (Viable) running Hunter's Mark However, due to the super rare amulet, it's not something one can do easily. This seems to be the most consistent damage-dealing build in the game at the moment. I believe, from my time playing the game, the strongest build would have to be Radiant Swarm build.
